What We Are Learning

Reader’s Workshop: We are finishing our unit on reading non-fiction information books.  Learning about many new topics and recalling all our facts.  Practice asking and answering questions before, during, and after reading and using new vocabulary words.  We will move on to learning even more strategies to help with decoding in our next unit.

Writer’s Workshop: We are writing All About books on topics we are experts on.  We are learning to write many facts on a page and adding different text features such as headings, a table of contents, diagrams, and a fun fact page.

Wilson Fundations: We are tapping out CVC words and learning about digraphs.

Math:  We are working with numbers 20 and beyond then moving into 2-dimensional shapes.  Practice counting to 100 by ones and tens.

Science/Social Studies: We are studying Dr. Seuss, Plants, the Sun, and Spring.
